Funeral services for Eldo Bogenschutz, age 82, of Glenville, will be held

10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 31, at Crossroads Evangelical Free Church in Albert Lea. The Rev. Glen Stevens will officiate. Interment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery with military honors accorded by the Freeborn County Veteran’s Organizations. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. today, Friday, at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the services at the Church.

Eldo died Wednesday, July 28, 2004, at the Albert Lea Medical Center.

Eldo Darrell Bogenschutz was born Sept. 3, 1921, to Henry and Nina (Klingbeil) Bogenschutz in Foster Township, Faribault County, and attended country schools. Eldo served in the United States Army Air Force during World War II from May 1942

to November 1945. On Jan. 6, 1946, Eldo was united in marriage to Lois Mae Floyd in Albert Lea. Eldo lived in the Albert Lea area most of his life and was a mail carrier for 13 years.

He loved farming and was well known for his Registered Hereford cattle. Eldo was a member of the Crossroads Evangelical Free Church.

Survivors include his wife, Lois; daughter, Becky Koch and her husband Ron of Littleton, Colo., and their daughter, Rachel Waterman and her husband Jim and their son, Brad Koch; daughter, Cindy Follmuth and her husband Paul of Northwood, Iowa, and their children, Dan Follmuth and his wife Tara, Renae Woodworth and her husband Ben, David Follmuth, Carol Anne Follmuth, and great-grandchildren, Hannah and Claire Woodworth; son, Tom Bogenschutz and his wife Marilyn of Savage, Minn., and his children, Nicole, Andy, Linda, and Laura Bogenschutz and her children, Lindsey and Megan Brandeland; son, Mike Bogenschutz and his wife Jill of The Woodlands, Texas, and their son, Alec; sister, Lorraine Combs of Hesperia, Calif.; brother, Harland Sandmaier and his wife LaMae of Bricelyn; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Forest Lorenz of Wells, Joann Modderman of Albert Lea, and Janet Ewing and her husband Ray, also of Albert Lea; and many nieces and nephews.

Eldo was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Nina; stepfather, Nick Sandmaier; and sister, Angela Lorenz.
