Frances A. Sauer, 84, Walters

Frances A. Sauer, age 84, of Walters, died Sunday, July 4, 2004, at St. John’s Lutheran Home in Albert Lea where she had resided since April.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, July 9, at United Lutheran Church in Walters. The Rev. Donald Rose will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Friday. Interment will be in the Walters Cemetery in Walters. Arrangements are by Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home, Wells.
Frances Adeline Sauer was born Sept. 29, 1919, on a farm near Walters, the daughter of Peter Andrew and Mary (Hauskins) Haukoos. On Feb. 12, 1938, she was united in marriage to Raymond E. Sauer in Bricelyn. Frances was a lifetime resident of Walters and a member of United Lutheran Church. She was a homemaker and also worked with her husband Raymond wrapping meat at the butcher shop. She enjoyed family gatherings, sending greeting cards for all occasions, having flowers around, and collecting salt and pepper shakers. She also enjoyed playing the organ at home.
She is survived by her son, Robert and his wife Marlys Sauer of Arden Hills, Minn.; one granddaughter, Jennifer Sauer of Arden Hills; two brothers: Wallace and his wife Marie Haukoos of Estherville, Iowa, and Earl and his wife Ruth Haukoos of Walters; two sisters: Pearl Lindeman of Albert Lea, and Margaret Haukoos of Walters; sister-in-law, Bernice Haukoos of Albert Lea; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond; eight brothers: Russell, Otis, Lester, Millard, Herman, Harold, Leonard and Joseph; and two sisters: Marian Behr and Pearl in infancy.
