Funeral services for Grace V. Sorbo, age 98, of Albert Lea, will be held

1:30 p.m. Friday, July 9, at Round Prairie Lutheran Church. Rev. Tammy Dahlvang will officiate. Interment will be in Round Prairie Cemetery. Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. today at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the services at the church.

Grace died Tuesday, July 6, 2004, at Thorne Crest North.

Grace Victoria Sorbo was born May 11, 1906, to William and Annie (Benjegerdes) Nagel in Freeman Township. She was baptized and confirmed at Round Prairie Lutheran Church, attended school at District #47, and had been a lifelong resident of the area. In 1923, Grace was united in marriage to Henry Hoverson in Albert Lea. He died in 1972. Grace and Reuben Sorbo were married on May 8, 1977, in Northwood, Iowa. Reuben died in 1986. Grace enjoyed playing the accordion with Orville Nelson and Kenny Rassmuson in the “Jolly Old Time Band.” She was a lifetime member of the Round Prairie Lutheran Church.

Survivors include children: Helen and her husband Palmer Dagestad of Amery, Wis., Howard Hoverson of rural Albert Lea, and Arlen and his wife Leona Hoverson, also of rural Albert Lea; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Grace was preceded in death by her parents; husbands: Henry and Reuben; brothers: Floyd Nagel and Leonard Nagel; and sisters: Lila Jensen and Esther Severson.

Grace will be sadly missed by all.
