Funeral services for Marguerite Rose Johnson, of Albert Lea, will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 24, at St. Theodore Catholic Church. The Rev. Robert Schneider will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in St. Theodore Catholic Cemetery.
Mrs. Johnson died Thursday morning, July 22, 2004, at the Albert Lea Medical Center in Albert Lea. She was 83 years of age.
Marguerite was born Oct. 15, 1920, in Albert Lea, the daughter of Fred and Beatrice (Geegan) Bauer. She graduated from Albert Lea High School.
On Sept. 9, 1941, she was united in marriage to Herbert Johnson at St. Theodore Catholic Church.
Marguerite was a homemaker most of her life and an active member of St. Theodore’s.
She enjoyed volunteering with the Naeve Hospital Auxiliary and participating in bridge marathons. In her free time, she enjoyed playing golf, bridge, knitting and travel.
Marguerite is survived by her children: Mark and his wife Jennifer of Minneapolis, Thomas of St. Paul, Michael and his wife Mary Kay of Casa Grande, Ariz., and James and his wife Diane of Rochester; daughter-in-law, Susan Braun Johnson of St. Paul; grandchildren: Paul, Emily, Matthew, Marianne (Dan), David (Carol), Marie, Daniel and Andrew; and great-grandchildren: Andrew, Ryan, Emily and Tanner. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Herbert, in 1997; two grandchildren: Jeremy and Michael; sisters: Eleanor, Marie (Mickey), and Helen; and two brothers: Fred (Joe) and Richard.
Memorials are preferred to St. Theodore’s Catholic Church in Albert Lea.
