Marti Louise Wells, age 54, of 3712 18th Ave. N.W., Apt. 2, Rochester, died Friday, July 16, 2004, at St. Marys Hospital, Rochester.

Marti Louise Rivers was born May 22,1950, in Omaha, Neb.

Survivors include two daughters: Jennifer (Kyle) Werner of Rochester, and: Carie Edgington of Las Vegas, Nev.; sister, Hali (George) Stephens of South Carolina; and stepfather, John Fitzke of California.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Mark Rivers, and her parents.

Marti grew up in Mundelein, Ill., where she attended and graduated from high school. After high school she married Patrick Mulligan and they later divorced. In 1970, she married Jerry Thompson in California and they moved to Emmons.

They divorced in 1975. She moved to Nevada where she lived until 1993 when she moved to Albert Lea. In 1996 she moved to Rochester and worked at I.B.M. and Schmidt Printing. She loved to crochet and sew and enjoyed her cat and annual gambling trips to Reno, Nev.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 21, at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes Rochester, with the Rev. Lester Horntvedt officiating.

Friends may call on Wednesday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
