Filing for open city council offices began yesterday. Three residents have declared their intention to run. Mayor Jean Eaton also filed.

John Severtson of Pearl Street, who is running for 5th Ward Councilor and Richard Seelye of Jefferson Street, also running for the 5th Ward seat. Mary Kron is the 5th Ward incumbent, and has not filed.

The 1st Ward seat, occupied by Warren Amundson and 3rd Ward seat by George Marin will also be open this year, though they have not filed.

Tim Borst of Oline Drive, filed for 5th District seat on the Freeborn County Board.
