U-13 boys run record to 9-0-1

The Albert Lea Elks U-13 boys’ soccer team remained undefeated for the summer with a pair of recent victories, 2-0 over Northfield and 4-2 over New Ulm.
Against Northfield, in what the coaches called total team effort, Jared Jensen and Andy Harte scored for the Elks team with assists going to Adam Clark and Tyler Prihoda. Jordan Devries did an outstanding job in goal. Also assisting in the victory was U-12 player Nate Harris.
In the New Ulm game, Prihoda, Grant Stadheim, Julio Beccerra and Levi Herrera got the goals while assists went to Felipe Beccerra, Stadheim, Jairo Campos, Jensen and Julio Beccerra. Devries was again in the net. Adam Kermes and Chris Karge played well on both offense and defense.
Playing outstanding defense in both games were John Hildreth, Lucas Dang, Cody Knudsen, Matt Tiegs and Marco Rodriguez.
The Elks team improved its record to 9-0-1 with two regular-season games remaining, against Prior Lake and Rochester.
