Virginia Ginny Carrisalez, 71, Albert Lea

The memorial service for Virginia “Ginny” Carrisalez will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 14, at St. Theodore Catholic Church, Albert Lea. The Rev. Robert Schneider will officiate. Burial will be in St. Theodore Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Bonnerup Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.

Ginny died on Saturday, July 10, 2004, at Albert Lea Medical Center. She was 71 years old.

Ginny was born in Albert Lea on Oct. 26, 1932, the daughter of Reyes and Daria (Ramirez) Carrisalez. She lived her entire life in Albert Lea and was a 1952 graduate of Albert Lea High School. She worked as a nursing assistant at Naeve Hospital for more than 40 years. She lived at Senior Courts for the past two years.

Ginny was an active member of St. Theodore Catholic Church and a member of the Council of Catholic Women. Her hobbies included: sewing, making quilts for family members, crossword puzzles, and socializing with her many friends. She was an avid Twins fan. Ginny looked forward to spontaneous vacations with family and friends.

Ginny is survived by one sister, Anna Carrisalez, and one brother, Rueben (Zoila) Calderon of Albert Lea; four nieces: Tina (Charlie) Dresser of Albert Lea, Rosie (Randy) Robinson of Rockford, Minn., Cathy Calderon of Austin, and Cindy Calderon of Bloomington, Minn.; 11 nephews: Mario “Bud” Calderon of Eagan, Rueben (Jon) Calderon Jr. of Dripping Springs, Texas, Tony Calderon of Kearney, Neb., Bobby (Connie) Calderon of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Michael (Diane) Calderon of Fairborn, Ohio, Steve Calderon of Burnsville, Phil (Karen) Rozalez of Wichita, Kan., Richard (Rena) Rozalez of Omak, Wash., Mark (Becca) Rozalez of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., John (Sheree) Rozalez of Wichita, Kan., and George Rozalez of Delray Beach, Fla.; many great- and great-great-nieces and -nephews; and many cousins in Mexico.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Jesse; and one sister, Isabel Rozalez.

Ginny will be sadly missed by her family. Blessed be her memory.
