Funeral services for Annabel Jacobson, age 82, of Albert Lea, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 6, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. The Rev. Wayne Halvorson will officiate. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the services at the Church.
Annabel died Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2004, at the Albert Lea Good Samaritan Center.
Annabel Jacobson was born Sept. 20, 1921, to Andrew and Jenny (Beck) Christensen in Neillsville, Wis. She graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1940. On Dec. 17, 1942, Annabel was united in marriage to Maynard R. Jacobson in Albert Lea. She was employed at Drug Supply and did wallpapering for many people.
Annabel was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid, the Eagle’s Auxiliary, and Senior Citizens. She enjoyed playing bingo, sewing, and especially spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, Maynard; children: Suzanne Newman and her husband Daryl of Albert Lea, Rebecca Baer and her husband Alan of Madison Lake, and Paula Jensen of Twin Lakes; sister, Bernice Koecher of Albert Lea; sisters-in-law: Gwen Christensen, Margaret Jacobson, and Doris Jacobson, all of Albert Lea, and Lucille Louden of Pine City; grandchildren: Karen Adkins and her husband Russ, Pam Elliott and her husband Dave, Mike Newman, Daron Newman and his wife Jody, Angela Baer, Karie Zierden and her husband Jeremy, Nikki Baker and her husband Chris, Kim Chapman and her husband Dave, and Hayley Jensen; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Annabel was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Bernard, Edward, and John Christensen; great-grandson, Aaron Elliott; three brothers-in-law; and nephew, Duane Christensen.
