Dolores S. Heilman, 102, Albert Lea

The Funeral Service for Dolores S. Heilman, age 102, of Albert Lea, will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 14, at the First Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. The Rev. Dan Baker will officiate. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea, and one hour before the service at the church.
Dolores died on Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2004, at St. John’s Lutheran Home in Albert Lea.
She was born on July 25, 1902, in Le Center, Minn., the daughter of Charles and Florence (Elliot) Bosacker.
She attended country school near Le Center and was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Le Center. On Sept. 29, 1923, she married Charles G. Heilman in Le Center. They had two sons: Charles E. and Dale. They made their home in Albert
Lea in 1924. For 10 years she worked as a manager at Woolworth’s lunch counter, but she spent her life creating a loving home for her family. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church where she had been active in the church women, Circle #9, and the Altar Guild. She had also been active in the Ramsey PTA, Naeve Hospital Auxiliary and the American War Dads.
Dolores was a people person, loving to visit and spend time with the family and friends she loved so much. She also enjoyed games, cards, bridge, crocheting, and crossword puzzles.
She is survived by her son, Dale Heilman and his wife Donna of Albert Lea; daughter-in-law, Pat Heilman Rank of Santa Rosa, Calif.; grandchildren: Dann Heilman and his wife Barb of Red Wing, Dara Heller of Chapel Hill, N.C., Douglas Heilman and his wife Kathy of Sioux Falls, S.D., Dede Fair and Patrick George of Albert Lea, and Michael Heilman, Susan Park, Sally Picard and her husband Scott and Patrick Heilman all of Santa Rosa, Calif.; 20 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; three brothers: Glen Bosacker of Bloomington, Minn., Leonard Bosacker of Albert Lea, and Kenneth Bosacker and his wife Bonnie of Billings, Mont.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles (Charley) G. Heilman, in 1972; son, Charles (Chuck) Edgar Heilman, in 1964; granddaughter, Sheri Donald; brother, Clarence and his wife Clarice Bosacker; three sisters: Esther and her husband Art Huber, Myrtle and her husband Fritz Sparke, and Iris and her husband Paul Becker; sisters-in-law: Helen Bosacker, and Alma Bosacker; and brothers-in-law: Oscar, Edgar and Ernest Heilman and their wives.
Dolores always found the good in everyone and everything and always was interested in others. She will be greatly missed by all those whose lives she touched in her blessed 102 years.
