Funeral services for Henry Bremer, age 83, formerly of Ellendale will be held at 1:30 p.m.
Tuesday, August 24, at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home. Pastor Kent Otterman will officiate. Interment will be in the Hollandale Cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Bayview and one hour prior to the services on Tuesday. To sign the guest book, go to .
Henry died Friday, August 20, 2004, at the Albert Lea Good Samaritan Center.
Henry Bremer was born March 21, 1921, to Henry C. and Sadie (Dykstra) Bremer in Sheldon, Iowa. He attended rural school in North Dakota and worked on the family farm. Henry then worked as a farm hand in North Dakota before moving to Albert Lea in the early 1950s. He was employed at Page & Hill Homes and then at Streater’s for several years before returning to farming in rural Ellendale, retiring in 1995. He enjoyed attending auction sales. Henry enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survivors include his sisters and brothers: Mary Van Bruggen of Valley City, N.D., Alice Flim of Albert Lea, Florence Thompson of New Richland, Pete Bremer of Springfield, Ore., Jeppe Bremer and his wife Charlotte of Geneva, Johnny Bremer and his wife Lu of Seattle, Wash., Sidney Bremer and his wife Audrey of Albert Lea, and Sadie DeJong and her husband Ed of Arizona City, Ariz., and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and great-nieces and nephews.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Tillie Oldenkamp.
