Herbert E. Enstad, 85, Albert Lea

Memorial services for Herbert E. Enstad, of Albert Lea, will be held 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 29, at Bonnerup Funeral Service Chapel in Albert Lea. The Rev. Robert Schneider will officiate. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Sunday. Interment will be in the West Freeborn Cemetery.
Herbert died Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2004, at his home in Albert Lea. He was 85 years of age.
Herbert was born Aug. 3, 1919, in Manchester Township, the son of
Otto and Marie (Peterson) Enstad. He attended public school district 21. He worked on the family farm and as a farmhand for most of his life. He also worked for a time at the Wilson Co. and at Winnebago. Herbert was united in marriage to Catherine Greenwood on July 22, 1972.
Herbert served our country in the US Army with the occupation forces in Japan following the war. He was a member of the Eagles Club and loved to spend time with his friends uptown.
Herbert enjoyed playing his accordion and listening to the radio.
He is survived by two brothers: Carl and his wife Austred of Manitowoc, Wis., and Richard and his wife Jesse of Sandusky, Ohio. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
Herbert was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Paul, Elmer, Edwin and Leonard; sister, Margaret Berthelson; and nieces: Phyllis and Carol.
Herbert’s family would like to thank Tim Miller for being a best friend.
He will be greatly missed by his many friends and relatives. God bless his memory.
