Inez Aletta, the daughter of Carl and Oline (Mathiason) Nelson, was born Dec. 15, 1911, in rural Freeborn County. She attended various rural schools in Worth County. After her schooling, she helped her family on the farm. She also worked in Northwood as a housekeeper. Inez was united in marriage to Ernest Enerson in June 1937 at the First Lutheran Parsonage.

The couple farmed the home farm in rural Northwood for over 45 years. Inez also worked as a cook in several restaurants in Northwood.

In 1963, the couple started in the egg production business called &uot;Triple E&uot;, which was also known as the Enerson’s Egg Emporium. Ernest died in October 1982. In December 1984 Inez married Egon Jensen in the First Lutheran Church, Northwood. The couple continued to run Triple E. Inez entered the Lutheran Retirement Home in April of 2000, where she has resided since, and Egon passed away in May of 2000.

Inez was an excellent cook and will always be remembered for her meatballs and lefse at the First Lutheran Church lutefisk dinners.

Inez’s greatest love was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing cards such as 500 and whist, gardening, sewing, and crocheting until her eye sight failed her.

She was a very active member of the First Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday School and held several offices in the various women’s organizations. As well as being a member of the First Lutheran Church, she and Egon regularly attended Sunday services at the First Baptist Church of Northwood. She was a member of the Albert Lea Eagles Club, a 4-H Leader for several years, and she was also a judge for the Worth County 4-H board.

Inez is survived by her daughter, Joan Johnson and her husband Gordon of La Crosse, Wis.; three granddaughters and their husbands: Susan and Dan Leifer of La Crosse, Wis., Sara and Peter Platten of Green Bay, Wis., and Kristin and Joe Hoeth of La Crosse, Wis.; and five great-grandchildren: Megan Leifer, David Leifer and William Hoeth, all of La Crosse, Wis., and Peter Platten and Katherine Platten of Green Bay, Wis. Also surviving is one brother, Maurice Nelson of Minnesota; one sister-in-law, Selma Gerszewski of Northwood; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Ernest Enerson; her second husband, Egon Jensen; three sisters: Selma, Mabel and Sena; and seven brothers: Christ, Axel, Casper, Helmer, Norman, Clarence, and Alfred.
