Memorial services for Robert G. Head of Albert Lea will be held

11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 19,

at St. Theodore Catholic Church. The Rev.

LaVern Trocinski will officiate. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 4 to 8 at Bonnerup Funeral Service Chapel and one hour prior to the service at the church. There will be a scripture prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday evening. Interment will be in St Theodore Cemetery.

Mr. Head died Sunday evening, Aug. 15, 2004, from complications of Parkinson’s disease at the Good Samaritan Center in Albert Lea. He was 79 years of age.

Robert was born Nov. 19, 1924 in Aberdeen, S.D., the son of George and Irene (Riley) Head. He attended school in La Crosse, Wis., through 11th grade, and graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1942. He then attended the University of Minnesota.

Robert was united in marriage to Beverly Peterson in 1955 at the St Theodore Catholic Church. He was employed by the Rock Island Lumber Co. which then became Weyerhaeuser as Quality Control Director retiring in l983.

Robert was an active member of St Theodore Catholic Church and enjoyed volunteering for fish fries and working with funeral luncheons. He was a founding member of the Minnesota Waterfowl Association, a member of Pheasants Forever and Ducks Unlimited. Robert was an active hunter and fisherman and enjoyed his hunting dogs. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. Robert enjoyed high school sports, and over the years never missed a basketball or football game.

Robert is survived by his wife, Beverly of Albert Lea; daughters: Kim and her husband Rick Torgeson of Houston, Minn., and Jane and her husband Rick Arrett of Minnetonka, Minn.; two grandchildren: Will and Lauren Arrett; two brothers: Harry and his wife Laurel Head of Cross Lake, Minn., and Tom and his wife Elaine Head of Blacksburg, Va.; two sisters: Mary Lou Head of Omaha, Neb., and Jeanne Head of New York, N.Y.; and one brother-in-law, Harkin Noll of Phoenix, Ariz. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; son, Scott Robert in infancy; and one sister, Betty Noll.
