Stella Charlotte Jordahl, 92, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Stella Charlotte Jordahl, age 92, of Albert Lea, will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 19, at Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. Curtis Zieske will officiate. Interment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Bonnerup Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
Stella died on Monday, Aug. 16, 2004, at St. John’s Lutheran Home in Albert Lea.
She was born on Nov. 23, 1911, in Elbow Lake, Minn., to Theodore and Bertha (Monson) Bugge. She attended school at District #58 in rural Albert Lea, Luther Academy until it closed, and graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1929. After then graduating from New Richland Teacher’s College, she taught at District #58 for six years. On July 2, 1938, Stella was united in marriage to Orville Jordahl in Albert Lea.
After a number of years of both Stella and Orville working for Wilson & Co., they moved to Minneapolis in 1961 and were both employed by the V.A. Hospital. After Orville’s death in 1964, Stella remained in Minneapolis until her retirement in 1975, and then she moved back to Albert Lea.
Stella enjoyed her many years of living at Senior Court and until the last few years was active at church, participating in circle and quilting.
Survivors include her daughter, Pat (Bob) Goldman of Albert Lea; son, David (Jeri) Jordahl of Appleton, Wis.; five grandchildren: Chris (Cari) Goldman, Craig (Kelli) Goldman, Kristin Jordahl, Mark (Devin) Jordahl, and Carol Goldman; three great-grandchildren: Ryan and Alex Goldman, and William Goldman; and nieces and a nephew.
Stella was preceded in death by her parents; husband; her sisters: Helen Jordahl, Norma Olson, and Tilda Wichmann; and all her in-laws.
Memorials are preferred to Trinity Lutheran Church or St. John’s Lutheran Home. Blessed be her memory.
