Stephanie Ann Hanna, 16, Geneva

The funeral service for Stephanie Ann Hanna will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, 2004, at the New Richland/Hartland/Ellendale/Geneva High School gymnasium in New Richland. The Rev. Joel Xavier and Rev. Thien Nguyen will officiate. Burial will be in Geneva Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the NRHEG High School auditorium. Friends and family may gather for a sharing time at 10 a.m. Saturday in the auditorium. Friedrich Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Stephanie died on Monday, Aug. 2, 2004, as a result of an automobile accident. She was 16 years old.

Stephanie was born in Owatonna on Nov. 12, 1987, the daughter of Robert and Sandy (Stover) Hanna. She lived in Owatonna until 1996, when she moved with her parents to Geneva. She was a member of Community Lutheran Church in Geneva where she had been confirmed. She had worked for one year in the kitchen of Gopher Stop North and she also enjoyed babysitting her cousin.

Stephanie had completed 10th grade at NRHEG High School. She was very athletic and had lettered in track, volleyball, basketball, and softball. Her passion was playing basketball and she was proud of her team winning fourth place in the 2003-04 state basketball tournament. She also played in the Austin Summer Basketball League and her team, “The Sparks” were the 2004, Gus Macker Tournament Champions.

Stephanie was artistic and enjoyed doing pencil drawings. She also liked boating, camping and particularly spending time with her family, friends and special friend, Bryan Kormann.

Stephanie is survived by her parents: Bob and Sandy Hanna of Geneva; one sister, Amanda Hanna of Geneva; one brother, Spencer Hanna of Geneva; grandparents: Reuben and Eleanor Hanna of Lake Mills, Iowa, and Stan and Judy Stover of Albert Lea; great-grandparents: Kay and Harvey Matson of Bricelyn; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her great-grandmother, Malena Swenson; great-aunt and uncle: Robert and Anita Johnson.

Stephanie will be sadly missed by her friends and family. Blessed be her memory.
