James C. Toft, 74, Albert Lea

The funeral service for James C. Toft of Albert Lea will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 11,
at the Grace Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. The Rev. Todd Walsh will officiate. Interment will be in Lakewood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Bonnerup Funeral Service, and one hour before the service at the church.
Jim was born in Albert Lea on Aug. 28, 1930, the son of Irvin and Cora (Gunderson) Toft.
He spent his early years growing up in the Ellendale area and graduated from Ellendale High School.
He was united in marriage on Aug. 11, 1951, to Margaret Jacobson of Hartland.
Jim served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was a long time member of the American Legion.
Jim was employed as an accountant at Wilson Co. for many years. After retiring from Wilsons, he did accounting work at Interstate Meats and Gold Country Marketing Co.
Jim died on Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2004, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester. He was 74.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret of Albert Lea; four children; Robert Toft of Albert Lea, Sharleen and her husband Bryan Olson of Winona, Allan Toft and his wife Debra of Albert Lea, and Linda and her husband Jeff Battey of
New Richland; grandchildren: Jennifer, Matthew, and Andy Olson, Patrick, Corrine and Jameson Toft, Michelle, Paulette, Nichole, Jeffrey R. and Eric Battey of New Richland; sisters and brothers: Carol Toft of Albert Lea, Gordon Toft of Owatonna, Charles Toft and his wife Margie or Spring Valley, Minn., Kenneth Toft and his wife Evie of New Richland, Phyllis Toft of Taft Calif., and Paul Toft and his wife Shirley of Prescott,
Ariz.; brothers-in-law: Everett Jacobson of Washington, and Joseph Jacobson of Arizona; and several nieces and nephews.
James was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Olive Toft; and a sister in infancy.
