Jane Foster, age 96, of Crawfordsville, Ind., died Sunday, Sept. 12, 2004, at the Lane House Nursing Home.

A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Crawfordsville, Ind.

She was born on May 11, 1908, in Lanarkshire, Scotland, the daughter of Robert and Mary Blackadder Heron. She married Rev. W.A. Foster on Aug. 15, 1935. The Rev. Foster, who died on Nov. 18, 1980, was the former rector of Christ Episcopal Church, Albert Lea.

She was educated in Scotland and attended business college in Nashville, Tenn. She was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church, had volunteered for Christian Nursing Service and Hospice, and was an avid bridge player and golfer.

Survivors include two daughters: Sheila Evans of Crawfordsville, and Jean Gobel of Crawfordsville; two sisters: Margaret Henderson of Franklin, Tenn., and Mary Mancuso of Schenectady, N.Y.; seven grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
