Funeral services for Karl H. Brune, age 86, of Conger, will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 3, at Bear Lake Concordia Lutheran Church. The Rev. Susan Wallager will officiate. Interment will be in the Mansfield Township Cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 7

Karl died Monday, Aug. 30, 2004, at St. John’s Lutheran Home.
Karl Henry Brune was born Oct. 14, 1917, to William H. and Minnie (Krueger) Brune on the family farm in Pickerel Lake Township. He attended the District #42 School. On June 20, 1955, Karl was united in marriage to Carmen Olivia Mattson at the Mansfield Lutheran Church. After retiring from farming, the couple moved to Conger where Karl worked for the creamery and drove milk truck. They have lived in Conger for the past 25 years. Karl had been on the Board of Directors for the Conger Elevator and the Conger Creamery. He had also served on the Bear Lake Church Council. Karl enjoyed fishing, spending time with his grandchildren, working in his tool shop, and listening to old time music and Twins baseball.
Survivors include his wife, Carmen of Conger; son, Luverne Brune and his wife
Kelli; daughter-in-law, Lori Brune; grandchildren: Lance, Larissa, Laci, and Aaron Brune, and Daymond Ramsey, all of Albert Lea; brother-in-law, Leo Mattson and his wife Phyllis of Emmons; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Karl was preceded in death by his parents; son, Loren Brune; brothers: Clarence and Elwin Brune; and his mother- and father-in-law: Hjalmer and Ella Mattson.
