Leland D. Ackland, age 91, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Sept. 8, 20-04, in the company of the caring and attentive nursing staff at Southview Acres in West St. Paul.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Anna Marie and Martin Ackland; his son, Wayne Lee Ackland; and son-in-law, John T. Trish.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Dorothy; daughter, Susan Trish; son, Gene (Tammy) Ackland; grandchildren: Laura Ackland, Scott (Laura) Trish, Sarah (Sean) Fredricks, and Michael Ackland; great-grandchildren: Samuel and Genevieve Fredricks; and sister, Gladys Narverud.

Leland was a barber in Albert Lea for many years after his four-year tour of duty in the European theatre of World War II.

Leland enjoyed writing, playing golf, and singing.
