Funeral services for Mabel Norma Lewis, age 89, of Albert Lea, will be held 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14, at the Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home. The Rev. Kent Otterman will officiate. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Bayview on Tuesday.

Mabel died on Sunday, Sept. 12, 2004, at Thorne Crest Health Care Center.

Mabel Norma Lewis was born on April 16, 1915 in Albert Lea, the daughter of John and Anna Tusen. She attended local schools. In 1937 Mabel was married to Lester S. Witter. She was also married to Albert Lewis in 1962. Mabel was a homemaker and a former member of the Freeborn Congregational United Church of Christ. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and reading.

Survivors include her sons: William and his wife Linda Witter of Clarks Grove, James Witter of Mason City, and Jerry Witter of Albert Lea; grandchildren: Mike, Mark, Lisa, William Jr., Scott, Dustin. Rachael, Angela, Kirstin, Joshua, and Jennifer; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Mabel was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands: Lester and Albert; granddaughter, Sandra K. Witter in infancy; her brothers: Art, Clarence, Selmer and Carl Tusen; and her sisters: Cora Tusen, Alyce Tiemann, and Betty Schnarr.
