Ruth R. &uot;Blondie&uot; Trytten, age 75, of 1449 N. Carolina Place, Mason City, Iowa, died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2004, at Muse Norris Hospice in-patient unit, Mason City.
Funeral services will be held today, Sept. 24, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 213 N. Pennsylvania, Mason City, with Rev. Jim Magelssen officiating. Burial will be at 3:15 p.m. today in Salem Memorial Cemetery, Lake Mills, Iowa.
Visitation was held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, Mason City, where a Women of the Moose memorial service was held at 6:30 p.m.. Further visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church, Friday.
Memorials may be given to Hospice of North Iowa or the American Cancer Society.
Ruth Rosella Trytten was born April 14, 1929, on a farm near Elmore, Minn., a daughter of Andrew and Christine (Didor) Loge. She was united in marriage to Elmer Theodore &uot;Bud&uot; Trytten on Oct. 12, 1945, at Minneapolis.
Ruth attended Albert Lea schools. She worked at Jacob E. Decker & Sons/Armour for 34 years, where she was active in the AFL-CIO, holding office and had a lead role in the United Way fund drive each year.
She enjoyed camping, fishing, crafts and a good card game; she especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She will be remembered for having a knack for making people laugh.
She was a 50-year member of Trinity Lutheran Church, and a member of Women of the Moose, Mason City.
She is survived by; two daughters: Cheryl Lajeunesse and her husband Richard of Fruit Heights, Utah, and Kristi Trytten of Bountiful, Utah: a son, Daryl Trytten of Mason City; a special friend of the family, Penny Trytten of Mason City; six grandchildren: Brenda Kobernusz of Monrovia, Calif., Kate Haberl of Santa Clara, Utah, Julie Kobernusz of Pasadena, Calif., James Kobernusz of
Fruit Heights, Utah; Angie Trytten of Mason City, Iowa, and Trenity Trytten of Mason City; two great-grandchildren: Dalton and Decker Haberl of
Santa Clara, Utah; and many nieces and nephews.
Ruth was recently preceded in death by her husband, Elmer, a month ago on Aug. 22, 2004; her parents;
two sisters: Hazel Sickles and Inez Jensen; and four brothers: Herman, Lloyd, Alfred and Arthur Loge also preceded her in death.
Those serving as pallbearers will be,: Daryl Trytten, James Kobernusz, Jim Loge, Dennis Largent, Raleigh King; Marlyn Loge and Jim Hrubetz.
As honorary pallbearers: Occi Smallfoot, Marge Jerrell, Dee Baragan, Josephine Angell and Kathryn Espinosa.
