Arlyn Jake Jacobson, 70, Albert Lea

The funeral service for Arlyn “Jake” Jacobson will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday,

Oct. 2, at the United Methodist Church, Albert Lea. The Rev. John Bromeland will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Lutheran Cemetery, Rapidan, Minn.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Bonnerup Funeral Service, and one hour before the service at the church.

Jake died on Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2004, at his home in Albert Lea following a short battle with cancer. He was 70 years old.

Jake was born in St. Marys Hospital, Rochester,

on Feb. 3, 1934, the son of Albin and Dora (Peterson) Jacobson. He was a 1952 graduate of Central High School, where he had played ice hockey, and attended Local #6 Plumbing and Steam Fitters Union School in Rochester.

In 1955, Jake was married to Ann Knutson; they had three children: David, Lori and Lisa. In 1965 he married Judith Just; they had four children: Kathy, Teresa, Toby and Tim. On June 22,1985, he was united in marriage with Jan Bement Paulson at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Austin. They have three children: Davis, Ken and Kari.

Jake worked for Harris Mechanical doing plumbing contract work and had done work for St. Marys Hospital and Mayo Clinic in Rochester, and Hormel Foods in Austin, MN. He retired in 1994. He was a member of the Albert Lea Elks and Local #6 Plumbers and Steam Fitters Union.

Jake enjoyed fishing, playing cards, watching the Twins and Vikings play, watching the sun rise on Albert Lea Lake and growing dinner plate dahlias.

Jake is survived by his wife, Jan of Albert Lea; nine children: David Jacobson and his special friend Shelly of Rochester, Lori (Greg) Jordahl of Byron, Minn., Kathy

(Frank) Muller of Hudson, Wis., Teresa (Randy) Coyle of Canton, Minn., Toby (Lesa) Jacobson of Rochester, Tim (Bridget) Jacobson of Roseville, Minn., David Paulson and his special friend Sue of Grinnell, Iowa, Ken (Diane) Paulson of Lacey, Wash., and Kari (Todd) Fjeldberg of Albert Lea; nephew, Mike (Roxanne) Robinson of

Rochester; 19 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Ione (Jerry) Jensen of Siren, Wis.; one brother, Albin “Jr&uot; (Anita “Punky”) Jacobson of Siren, Wis.; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Greta Johnson; and one daughter, Lisa Hovland.
