Gladys M. Kvenvold, 94, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Gladys M. Kvenvold, age 94, of Albert Lea will be held at 11 A.M., Monday, October 25, 2004, at East Freeborn Lutheran Church. Rev. David Hernes will officiate. Interment will be in the East Freeborn Cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 8 P.M. today, Sunday, at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home.
Gladys died Thursday, October 21, 2004, at the Albert Lea Good Samaritan Center.
Gladys Marian Kvenvold was born March 4, 1910, to Ole and Amanda Denora (Johnson) Iverson in Albert Lea. She was baptized, confirmed, and a life member at East Freeborn Lutheran Church. Gladys attended the Hoidal School through the 8th grade. On June 13, 1937, she was united in marriage to Kermit R. Kvenvold at East Freeborn Lutheran Church. Gladys was active in Altar Guild, Ladies Aid, and Circle #2 at the Church and the Mother’s Club at her children’s school.
She found her greatest joy in caring for her family. Gladys also loved tending to her plants and flowers at the farm and still enjoyed the many plants and flowers her family brought to her at Good Samaritan.
Survivors include her children: Terrance and wife Carol Kvenvold of Albert Lea, Alton and wife Sandy Kvenvold of Albert Lea, Steven and wife Sandy Kvenvold of Rochester, Kathleen and husband Cliff DeYoung of Calif., Ramona Richter and special friend Lynn O’Daffer of Albert Lea, Gayle and husband Chuck Gould of Minneapolis, and Joanne and husband George Griffin of Spring Grove; grandchildren: Michael, Dianna, Stephanie, Stacey, Stephanie, Travis, Camille, Melanie, Missy, Larry, Manzi, Jennifer, Joshua, and Emily; 18 great-grandchildren; sisters, Leona Rhiger and Verona and husband Warren Thorson; sister-in-law, Evie Iverson; brother-in-law, Owen and wife Dorothy Kvenvold; and many special nieces, nephews, and friends.
Gladys was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kermit; sisters: Eleanore, Jewel, and Carmen; and brothers: Everett, Arnold, and Alton.
