Jacquelin Joy Stiernagle, 62, Freeborn

The funeral service for Jacquelin Joy Stiernagle of rural Freeborn will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 1, at the Church of All Saints in New Richland. The Rev. Thien Nguyen will officiate. Visitation will be held Sundayfrom 4 to 8 p.m. at the Friedrich Funeral Home in New Richland and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Freeborn Cemetery, Freeborn.

Mrs. Stiernagle died Thursday evening at the Austin Medical Center. She was 62 years of age.

Jackie was born July 13, 1942, in Albert Lea, the daughter of Eugene and Helen (Hass) Stensrud. She was a graduate of Freeborn High School. On Dec. 26, 1959, she was united in marriage to James Stiernagle of Waldorf. She was a lifelong resident of Freeborn County. Jackie had been employed by the Freeborn Cafe and the Oakview Golf Course as a waitress and cook. Many of Jackie’s activities included 4-H leader, Freeborn County Township treasurer, All Saints Catholic Church Circle member, she was active with the Freeborn Frisbee and a member of the Freeborn Red Hat Society. She also enjoyed crafts, stamping, gardening, playing bingo, her morning coffee with friends, family get-togethers and she especially loved her grandchildren.

Jackie is survived by her husband James of Freeborn; sons Dwayne and his wife Sharon of Freeborn, David and his wife Jackie of Woodlands, Texas, Dan and his wife Kim of Albert Lea, and Jesse of Freeborn; daughters, Shirley and her husband Steve Rose of Amboy, Denise and her husband Kenny Meyer of Lowry; grandchildren, Carrie, Wendy, Matthew Stiernagle, Jamie, Jill, Jonie Rose, Calab, Nicholas, Mallory Stiernagle, Randy Stiernagle, Blake and Benjamin Stiernagle.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Vic, sister Jeannene and brother-in-law, Dick Howe.
