Funeral services for Louise M. Galkin, age 79, of Albert Lea, will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 30,
at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home. The Rev. Jeff Laeger-Hagemeister will officiate. Interment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the services on Saturday.

Louise died Wednesday, October 27, 2004, at St. John’s Lutheran Home.
Louise Marie Galkin was born Jan. 21, 1925, to Edward and Friedaricka (Fischer) Mischke in
Frazee, Minn. She graduated from Frazee High School and attended Mankato Beauty School.
On Sept. 14, 1947, Louise was united in marriage to Peter Galkin in Frazee at the Evergreen Parsonage.
The couple moved to Albert Lea where Louise owned and operated Lou’s Salon.
She enjoyed raising flowers, playing cards, bingo, embroidery, traveling with her husband, and spending time with the family, especially her grandchildren. Louise was a member of the Senior Citizens and the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Peter of Albert Lea; children: John and Linda Galkin of Hayward, Anita Galkin of Stillwater, and Gloria Ramirez of Albert Lea; grandchildren: Tamara Okland, Rhonda Pylypenko, Christine Galkin, and Brandon Ramirez; great-grandchildren: Brett, Jared, Justin, and Stormy; sister, Martha and her husband Kenny Gausman of Cokato, Minn.; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Louise was preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Laura Illg, Lydia Sperling, and Marie Wigern; and brother, Leonard Mischke.
Louise will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved her.
