Funeral services for Lucille Travnick, age 83, of Albert Lea, will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 15, at the Church of St. Theodore. The Rev. Robert Schneider will officiate. Interment will be in St. Theodore’s Cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the services at the Church. Lucille died Monday, Oct. 11, 2004, at the Albert Lea Medical Center.
Lucille Travnick was born April 23, 1921, to John Peter and Catherine (Weaver) Jacobs in Hays, Kan. On Nov. 8, 1946, she was united in marriage to Arthur Travnick at the courthouse in Minneapolis. Lucille owned and operated a tavern and lunch counter in Hayward from 1951 to 1988 before moving back to Albert Lea. She was a member of St. Theodore Church. Lucille enjoyed listening to Twins baseball, fishing, crossword puzzles, cooking, and baking. She especially enjoyed being a caregiver to many people.
Survivors include brothers: John I. Jacobs and his wife Phyllis of Mission, Texas, Casper Jacobs and his wife Reedie of Albert Lea, and George Jacobs and his wife Delorus, also of Albert Lea; and several nieces and nephews.
Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arthur; brother, Michael Jacobs and his wife Nadine; an infant sister, Heneritta; an infant brother; nephews: Rick Jacobs and Dave Johnson; grandnephews: Eric Jacobs and Nathan Jacobs; and great-grandniece, Brittany Jacobs.
Lucille will be greatly missed by her loving family and many friends.
