Task force makes meth bust

Two people were arrested for the sale of methamphetamine on Oct. 1, by the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office and the South Central Drug Task Force. The arrests were results of ongoing investigations.
Martha Beighley, 43, of Albert Lea, was charged Oct. 1 with three counts of 4th degree sale of meth after selling powder meth to an informant on three separate occasions.
Damon Green, 36, of Albert Lea, was charged Oct. 1 with one count of 4th degree sale of meth after delivering powder meth to be sold to an informant.
Beighley’s charges carry a maximum penalty of 15 years imprisonment and $100,000 fine per charge. Beighley was released on $50,000 unconditional bail or $30,000 with the following conditions: to stay away from alcohol and mood altering chemicals, subject to random testing, sign a waiver of extradition, cannot leave Minnesota without court permission, and to obey the
law and be on good behavior.
Green’s charge carries a maximum penalty of 15 years imprisonment and a $100,000 fine. Green was released on $20,000 unconditional bail or $10,000 with the following conditions: to stay away from alcohol and mood altering chemicals, subject to random testing, sign a waiver of extradition, cannot leave Minnesota without court permission, and to obey the law and be on good behavior.
