Funeral services for Brian G. Smith, age 45, Albert Lea, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Albert Lea, with the Rev. Curtis Zieske officiating. Visitation will be today, Nov. 1, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea.
Brian died Friday, Oct. 29, 2204, in his home.
Born Aug. 15, 1959, in Albert Lea, he was the son of Gerald L. and Ruth E. (Nelson) Smith. He was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church, Albert Lea, on Oct. 25, 1959, by the Rev. Fred Jacobson, and confirmed in the American Lutheran Church of Worthington by the Rev. C. J. Fellger. Brian attended schools in Albert Lea, Ventura, Iowa, and Worthington. His hobbies and interests included putting together model cars and preparing his car for car shows. He spent many hours polishing and cleaning his Neon had won several trophies.
Survivors include his parents: Ruth E. and Gerald L. Smith of Albert Lea; four brothers: Durin L. (Paulette) Smith of Coleraine, Minn., Mark D. (Nancy) Smith of Albert Lea, Paul E. (Sara) Smith of Shakopee, and Scott D. (Suzanne) Smith of Sioux City, Iowa; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
His nephew; Jason L. Smith; his niece; Lisa A. Smith; and his grandparents: Durin S. and Josie Smith, and Edmund J. and Sylvia Nelson, preceded him in death.
