Cora Petersen, 98, Albert Lea

The funeral service for Cora Petersen, of Albert Lea, will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, at the Grace Lutheran Church, Albert Lea. The Rev. John Henriksen will officiate. Interment will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before service at the church.
Cora died on Monday, Nov. 15, 2004, at the Good Samaritan Center. She was 98 years old.
Cora was born in Glenville on April 2, 1906, the daughter of Torger and Petra Haroldson. She
attended elementary school in Glenville, before graduating from Albert Lea High School. She also attended Luther Academy. Cora had been a lifetime resident of the Albert Lea area. She was baptized and confirmed at the Round Prairie Lutheran Church in rural Glenville. Cora was married to Harvey C. Peterson on Oct. 5, 1929, in Dell Rapids, S.D. She was a member of Grace Lutheran
Church, Albert Lea.
Cora had worked for Woolworth’s Lunch Counter, Albert Lea Bakery, and Phil’s Cafe for 15 years when Sam Pagen was the owner. She also worked at the Hyde Grill for five years and later worked at Ad Art for five years before retiring. Cora was a hard worker and devoted to all her fellow employees.
She was so thrilled to have been able to go on a trip to Denmark with the Danish Brotherhood in the 1970s. She loved listening to music and dancing and playing cards, especially with a 500 Club at the Senior Center.
Cora is survived by her daughter, Beulah Sigurdson and husband
Norris of Albert Lea; grandchildren: Terry (Shirl) Sigurdson of Albert Lea, Pamela Sigurdson of Columbia Heights, Minn., Lisa (Mike) Conway of Austin, Todd Sigurdson of Plymouth, Minn., and Kimberly (Greg) Hoffman of White Bear Lake, Minn.; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Cora was preceded in death by her parents; son, Donald Duane at the age of
5; husband, Harvey in 1981; four brothers: Harry, Armand, Parnell and Clarence; sister, Olga Attic.
