Memorial services for Jean M. Ostley, age 85, of Albert Lea will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, at St. John’s Chapel in Albert Lea. The Rev. Jeff Laeger-Hagemeister will officiate. Jean died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2004, at St. John’s Lutheran Home.

Jean Marie Ostley was born Oct. 31, 1919, to Henry and Minna (Nehring) Ehrich in Blue Earth County. She attended schools in Albert Lea, graduating from Albert Lea High School in 1936.

On Feb. 13, 1938, Jean was united in marriage to Raymond Karl Ostley at her parent’s home in Albert Lea. She owned the Hayward Cafe and had also been employed as a special diets aide at Naeve Hospital. Jean was a member of First Lutheran Church. She enjoyed playing cards, traveling, and crocheting.

Survivors include her children: Joan and her husband Kenneth Lang of Savanna, Ill., Karen and her husband Eldon Nelson of Fergus Falls, Michael and his wife Mary Ostley of Austin, and Mark and his wife Julie Ostley of Anoka; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sister, Marilyn Edwardson of Palo Alto, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond; and brother, Virgil Ehrich.
