Tribune staff reports

Every year the city council seeks new board members for terms that have expired on various boards or commissions. Community members are appointed to boards and commissions by the city council in December for the new years. Members may be reappointed for two consecutive terms. This is an opportunity for community members to be involved in local government.

This city council has the following boards and commissions: Library Board, Board of Zoning Appeals, Human Rights Commission, Park and Recreation Board, Planning Commission and the Airport Board.

Anyone interested in being on a commission may apply by submitting a letter to the mayor’s office at City Hall by Dec. 13. Please give qualifications, experience and reason you would like to serve on a board or commission. Letters will be kept on file in the mayor’s office for future openings once appointments are filled.
