Esther Tatge, 90, Wells

Esther Tatge, age 90, of Wells, died Monday, Dec. 6, 2004, at The Shepherd’s Inn in Wells.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 9, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wells. the Rev. Paul Baker will officiate. Visitation will be held at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells from 5 to 8 p.m. today, Dec. 8,
and one hour prior to services on Thursday at the church. Interment will be at Rosehill Cemetery in Wells.
Esther was born Oct. 8, 1914, in Alden, the daughter of Forest and Agnes (Barr) Woollard. Esther attended the Alden Public School. On June 26, 1935, she was united in marriage to Melvin Tatge in Wells. Esther had worked for Putz Flower Shop in Wells, and also for OK Hardware for 20-plus years. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and the Hope Circle. She had taught Sunday school for a number of years. She was a member of the Wells Senior Citizens and the Ladies Aid. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting.
She is survived by her husband, Melvin Tatge of Wells; one son, Donald and his wife Judy Tatge of Lakeville; three grandsons: Steve and his wife Linda Tatge of Cannon Falls, Minn., Scot and his wife Amy Tatge of Waconia, Minn., and Shawn and his wife Beth Tatge of Lakeville; six great-grandchildren; two sisters: Amanda Kennedy of Albert Lea, and Jennie McGill of Wells; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers: Clarence, Robert, Roy and Fred; and two sisters: Fern and Margaret.
