Harold Arthur Halvorson, 83, Shakopee

The funeral service for Harold Arthur Halvorson, former Clarks Grove resident, will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, at the Community Lutheran Church in Geneva. The Rev. Joel Xavier will officiate. Interment will be in the Geneva Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea, and one hour before the service at the church.
Harold died on Sunday, Dec. 26, 2004, at St. Gertrude’s Health Care Center in Shakopee. He was 83.
He was born in McIntosh, Minn., on May 10, 1921, the son of Oscar and
Matilda (Madson)
Halvorson. He graduated from Freeborn High School. On Aug. 15, 1943, he married Lucille Folie. Following their marriage they made their home in Clarks Grove.
Throughout his life he farmed, worked for Sorensen Brothers, Albert Lea Foundry and Church Offset Printing from which he retired.
He was a member of the Community Lutheran Church had been a member of the Eagle’s and the Moose.
He enjoyed his toy tractor collecting.
Harold is survived by four children: Steven and his wife Sandi Halvorson of St. James, Gary Halvorson and his wife Fran of Pecantonica, Ill., Susan Halvorson of St. Paul, and Carolyn and her husband Steve Gallentine of Jordan, Minn.; grandchildren: Chad Halvorson and his wife Jen of Faribault,
Kirk Halvorson of Edgewater, Md., Neil Halvorson and his wife Judith of Mayer, Minn., Justen and Luke Halvorson of Pecatonica, Ill., Matt Gallentine and his wife Stacie of Robbinsdale, and Siri Gallentine of Jordan; five great-grandchildren: Hannah, Hunter, Morgan, Kaitlyn and Moira Halvorson; sisters-in-law:
Mary Halvorson of California, Jeanette and her husband LeRoy Ophaug of Sartell, Minn., and Stanley Folie and his wife Mary Ann of Bloomington, Minn.; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lucille, in 1991; and two brothers:Ernest and Clarence.
