Memorial services for Peggy J. Erickson, age 71, of Albert Lea, will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, at Grace Lutheran Church. The Rev. Todd Walsh will officiate. Private burial will be at the First Lutheran Cemetery, Blooming Prairie. Peggy died on Sunday, Dec. 26, 2004, at her home.

Peggy Jean Erickson was born on Dec. 10, 1933, in Donaldson, Tenn., the daughter of Roy and Susie (Light) Murphy.The family moved to the Minneapolis area where Peggy attended and graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1951. Peggy was united in marriage to Roger E. Erickson on May 29, 1952, in Petaluma, Calif. The couple moved to Roger’s hometown of Blooming Prairie where they farmed and then

to Albert Lea in 1966 where Peggy was employed as an executive secretary for District 241. After her retirement from the school system she was the office manager for Arends and Associates. Peggy loved to work in her flower gardens and spend time with her husband, children and grandchildren. She truly loved to be with children of all ages. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her husband, Roger E. Erickson; two sons: Roger and wife Bonnie Erickson and their children, Brooke, Alex and Katie, and David and wife Laurie Erickson and their children, Brian and Brandon; brother, Harry and wife Pat Murphy; sisters-in-law: Jean Schimmele, Delores and husband Vern Strand, and Carol and husband Jack Benson; and many beloved nieces and nephews, especially niece, LouAnn and husband Gary Holland.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, James ; sister, Barbara; brother-in-law, Roger Schimmele; and niece, Heidi Benson.
