The memorial service for Sonny Abrego was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 5, at Wiley Funeral Home in Glen Rose, Texas. Interment was at Squaw Creek Cemetery, Glen Rose, Texas.

Sonny died Thursday, Dec. 2, 2004, in Fort Worth, Texas, at the age of 71.

He was born Feb. 19, 1933 in San Antonio, Texas, the son of Celestino and Rosa Abrego.

He is survived by children; Gloria Abrego, Veronica Shuemake, Brenda Abrego, Bobby Abrego and Randy Abrego; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Also surviving are brothers: Tony Abrego, Pat Abrego, Marian Abrego, Timothy Abrego, David Abrego and John Abrego; sisters: Gloria Fernandez, Fran Wilborn, Emily Abrego and Rosie Castillo; and numerous nieces and Nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Celestino and Rosa Abrego; brother, Moses Abrego; and sisters: Elizabeth Villarial and Dora Muniz.
