Dimiter James Ivanoff, 85, Shakopee

Dimiter James Ivanoff, age 85, of Shakopee, died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2005, at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Shakpee.
He was born in Sofia, Bulgaria, on Aug. 25, 1919, the son of
Lazar Stoyanov hadji Ivanoff and Todorka Evstatieva Anastasova.
Mr. Ivanoff earned his college degree in Germany.
Prior to retirement, he worked as a civil engineer.
He is survived by son, Alex of Orange County, Calif.; daughter, Ingrid (Jon) Levine of Shakopee; their mother, Marichu Wolmerath of Orange County, Calif.; grandchildren: William, Christian and Nadia; extended Minnesota family: Paul and Dora Levine of Albert Lea, Penny Alvey of Austin, and Bruce Levine of Bricelyn; close special friends: Herta Vitoshanski, Sylvia (Matt) Perlee, and Sonya (Peter) Levy, all of Santa Barbara, Calif.; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by parents and brother in Bulgaria; and special friend, Boyan Vitoshanski.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. The memorial servicewill be 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, at the Cavanaugh-McNearney Funeral Home, 1220 E. Third Ave., Shakopee.
Additional services and the interment will take place at a later date in Santa Barbara, Calif.
