Grace M. Ferring, 90, Albert Lea

The funeral service for Grace M. Ferring, of 1201 Garfield Ave., Albert Lea, will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 2, at St. Theodore Catholic Church. The Rev. Robert Schneider will officiate. Interment will be in St. Theodore’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Theodore Catholic Church. Bonnerup Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Grace died Saturday, Jan, 29, 2005, at Thorne Crest Retirement Center. She was 90 years old.

Grace was born May 27, 1914, at Dyersville, Iowa, to Edward Michael and Amelia (Kunkel) Ament. She graduated in 1932 from Xavier High School, Dyersville. She married Cletus Ferring on Sept. 18, 1939, at Dyersville. Grace has also lived at Lancaster, Wis., and then in 1949 came to Albert Lea. She was a member of St. Theodore Catholic Church and had been active in their Church Guild. Grace was an excellent cook and baker. She enjoyed playing bridge and working in her flower garden.

Grace is survived by her three children: Marilyn Remakel and her husband Ron of Albert Lea, Kathleen Joswick and her husband Thomas of Macomb, Ill., and Margie DeBolt and her husband Dwight of Fort Pierce, Fla.; grandchildren: Mike Remakel and his wife Laurie, Marcie Anderson and her husband Todd, Jodi Wangsness and her husband Barry, Sarah Joswick and Lori Steckervetz, Martha Raleigh and her husband Rustin, Amanda Konczal and her husband Paul, and Delight DeBolt; and great-grandchildren: Colton and Sami Remakel, Nikki and Mike Olson, Ashley Anderson, Ty Anderson and Gwyneth Grace Raleigh.

Grace was preceded in death by her parents: Edward and Amelia Ament; husband: Cletus Ferring; and three brothers and one sister.
