Mary J. Storlie, age 73, of Hokah, Minn., passed away on Monday, Jan. 3, 2005,
in Hokah.
She was born on Jan. 4, 1931, in Minneapolis to William and Viola (Walther) Kathan. She married Clifton V. &uot;Casey&uot; Storlie in Spring Grove, Minn., on Oct. 28, 1948. He preceded her in death on May 7, 1977.
Mary was well known in the Hokah area for her years of work at Kwik Trip and the library. One of her greatest joys was to &uot;head up the river&uot; to play bingo at Treasure Island.
Mary is survived by her mother and
step father: Viola and Leonard McCord; three daughters,:Marilyn (Roger) Bernsdorf of Hokah, Cheryl (Farrell) Guillien of La Crescent, and Laurie (Matt) Meyers of Sparks, Nev.; three sons, Jerry (Judy) Storlie of La Crescent, Darrell (Vickie) Storlie of
Clarks Grove, and Brian (Maureen) Storlie of Hokah; 16 grandchildren: Michelle (Gary) Beck, Julie (Paul) Moore, Sara (Kevin) Walther, Jason Storlie, Jennifer (Bill) Conroy, Justin Storlie, Jeff Storlie, Ben Storlie and fiance Courtney Soderholm, Vanessa Storlie, Karla (Craig) Helke, Christopher Bernsdorf, Eric Meyers, Alex Meyers, Ryan Meyers, Vittoria Storlie and Casey Storlie, eight great-grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Patricia Kathan of California.
In addition to her father and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 7, at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hokah. The Rev. Steven Wall will officiate. Private family burial will take place at a later date.
Friends may call at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home of La Crescent on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m., and again at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
