The funeral service for Aristeo Martinez, of Albert Lea, will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at St. Theodore&uot;s Catholic Church. The Rev. Robert Schneider will officiate. Interment will be in St. Theodore’s Cemetery. Visitation will be from
5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea, and one hour before the service at the church. A
prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at Bonnerups.
Aristeo died
Saturday, Feb. 12, at St. John’s Lutheran Home.
He was 79 years old.
Aristeo was born Sept. 3, 1925, in Mexico to Luis and Lucina Nava Martinez. He married Manuela Nunez on Sept. 18, 1955, at Geneva. Aristeo was a member of St. Theodore’s Catholic Church. He held a boiler license and worked for Land-O-Lakes as a boiler operator. Aristeo belonged to the Mexican Army. He also was a carpenter.
Aristeo is survived by his wife, Manuela; eight children: Luis Martinez and his wife Esther of Albert Lea, Aristeo Martinez Jr. and his wife Yolanda of Albert Lea,
Richard Martinez and his wife Kathy of Loveland, Colo., Lucy Hernandez and her husband Ernesto of Albert Lea, Ilda Reyerson and her husband Brian of Emmons,
Greg Martinez and his wife Diane of Loveland, Colo., Tina Talamantes and her husband Scott of Brighton, Colo., and Jose Martinez of Albert Lea;
21 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three brothers: Roman Martinez, Porfirio Martinez and Santiago Martinez; and two sisters: Gregoria Martinez and Geronima Martinez.
Aristeo was preceded in death by his parents; two sons: Peter and Manuel; and two daughters: Armentina and Maria Elena.
