Elayne Mary Ludescher, 78, Albert Lea

The funeral service for Elayne Mary Ludescher will be held 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 18, at the United Methodist Church, Albert Lea. The Rev. John Bromeland will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Bonnerup Funeral Service, and one hour before the service at the church.
Elayne died Monday, Feb. 14, 2005, at Albert Lea Medical Center. She was 78 years old.
Elayne was born in Minneapolis on June 27, 1926, the daughter of William and Anne (Crichton) Geldert. She was a graduate of Mound High School, Mound, Minn., where she had been a majorette in the high school marching band.
Elayne married Mark Ludescher in Excelsior, Minn., and they celebrated 60 years of marriage together. With Mark’s work they had lived in Chatham, N.Y., Salinas, Calif., Colorado Springs, Colo., and Albert Lea. While living in New York, Elayne had worked as a legal secretary and in other secretarial positions. She had also done volunteer work for an AME church in Chatham, NY.
Elayne came from a musical family and enjoyed playing piano and singing. She also enjoyed playing bridge. Mark and Elayne did a lot of traveling, most memorable was a trip to Scotland and Caribbean cruises. She had been a member of the Eastern Star.
Elayne is survived by her husband, Mark of Albert Lea; three daughters: Marlane (Mike) Little of Colorado Springs, Colo., Carol Richter of Albert Lea, and Judy (Bob) Clark of Centennial, Colo.; three granddaughters: Katie and Elizabeth Brumbaugh of Virginia, and Laura Richter of Albert Lea; one sister, Rosanne Freeburg of Fulton, Texas; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
