Esther I. Wertman, age 92, of Wells, died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2005, at Parkview Care Center in Wells

Funeral services will be at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wells on Tuesday, Feb. 15, at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Paul Baker officiating. Visitation will be held at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells today from 4 to 7:30 p.m., and one hour prior to services at church on Tuesday. Interment will be in Rosehill Cemetery in Wells.

Esther was born on Jan. 6, 1913, in Walnut Lake Township, Faribault County, the daughter of John E. and Emma S. (Albrecht) Boeck. She was baptized on March 23, 1913, and later confirmed her faith at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wells. She married Claude D. Wertman on June 12, 1943, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wells.

She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and was a homemaker and enjoyed the out-doors, working with her flowers and yard and being with her family.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband in 1967; and two brothers: Harry and Alfred Boeck.

Survivors include two sisters: Marian Sonnek and Bernice (husband Ed) Lenort of Wells; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
