Vivian Lola Johnson, 95, Lake Crystal

Funeral services for Vivian Lola Johnson will be held at 11:30 a.m., Monday, Feb. 14, at Community Lutheran Church in Geneva. The Rev. Joel Xavier will officiate. Burial will be in St. Ansgar Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Bonnerup Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.
Vivian died on Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2005, at Lake Crystal Health Care Center in Lake Crystal. She was 95 years old.
Vivian was born in Dundas on April 12, 1909, the daughter of Everett and Jane (Cruikshank) Hoover. She was a graduate of Faribault High School.
On Aug. 15, 1937, Vivian was united in marriage with Jay W. Johnson in Faribault. They farmed near Ellendale until Jay’s death in 1981. Vivian moved to an apartment near Ellendale in 1983 and then to Lake Crystal in 1993.
Vivian was a member of Community Lutheran Church where she had been active in ladies groups and church music. She had played organ and sang at St. Ansgar Lutheran Church. She enjoyed playing piano and the outdoors, gardening and yard work. She was a care giver and took care of her special needs son, mother-in-law and husband in their later years.
Vivian is survived by one sister, Genevieve (Glenn) Johnson of Lake Crystal and 20 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jay, in 1981; a son, Bernard &uot;Sonny,&uot; in 1962; two brothers, Merton and Melville Hoover and one sister, Mary Hoover.
Memorials may be made to Community Lutheran Church or St. Ansgar Cemetery.
