James Volz, 48, Minnesota Lake

James R. &uot;Jimmy&uot; Volz, age 48, of Minnesota Lake, died suddenly on Thursday, March 10, 2005, at Immanuel-St. Joseph Hospital in Mankato.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 14, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Minnesota Lake.
Visitation will be at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Minnesota Lake today, Sunday, March 13, from 4 to 8 p.m., and one hour prior to the service at the church.
James R. &uot;Jimmy&uot; Volz was born Oct. 14, 1956, the son of James M. and Elizabeth M. (Borglum) Volz in Mankato. He graduated from Minnesota Lake High School, the class of 1974.
He attended Mankato Technical School and graduated in 1976.
He had worked for Fron Hardware and Implement until he and his brother Roger formed Volz Brothers Farm Mechanics.
They are involved with crop farming, raising cattle and mechanic works.
Jimmy was also in partnership with Volz & Evanson Farm Drainage Inc.
Jimmy was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society, and was a Supervisor for the Danville Township Board.
He was involved with the Heather Curling Club in Mapleton.
He enjoyed his hobby of Community Santa.
Jimmy was a fun-loving guy and enjoyed children, especially his nieces and nephews.
He enjoyed meeting people and socializing.
Survivors include one brother, Roger and his wife Jody Volz of Minnesota Lake; four sisters, Sister Mary Patricia Volz C.R. of Chicago, Ill., Kathryn and her husband Dennis Heine of Minnesota Lake, Linda and her husband Tom Haupt of Arlington, and Ann and her husband Timothy Nix of Plato; six nieces and seven nephews, Brittany, Chelsea, Mackenzie and Mitchell Volz, Greg, Steve and Derek Heine, Melinda and Nickolas Haupt, and Joseph, Elizabeth, Shannon and Andrew Nix; step-mother Mary Stenzel Volz of Minnesota Lake; numerous aunts, uncles,
cousins and friends; and three stepbrothers and two stepsisters and their families.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
