Lillian Emrud, 97, Alden

Funeral services for Lillian A. Emrud, age 97, of Alden, will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 16, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Alden. The Rev. Peter Soli will officiate. Burial will be in the Alden Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the services at the church.
Lillian died on Saturday, March 12, 2005, at the Good Samaritan Center.
Lillian Alta Emrud was born on Sept. 2, 1907, in Alden, the daughter of Lauridts and Emma (Jacobsen) Jensen. She attended rural school district 16. On May 26, 1935, she was united in marriage to Oliver E. Emrud at the Danish Lutheran Church. Lillian was a member of the Mother’s Club, Redeemer Lutheran Church where she was active in Ladies Aid, and the Altar Guild. She enjoyed sewing, baking and tending to her large flower garden in her younger years.
Survivors include her daughter, Marlene Fahning of Woodbury, Minn.; son, Lowell and wife Lois Emrud of Dodge Center; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; nephew, Curtis and wife Beverly Emrud; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Oliver; brothers: Einer and wife Alta, Etler, and Albert and wife Blanche Jensen; and sister, Alice Jensen.
