Funeral services for Robert F. Miller, age 73, of Glenville, will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 3, at Zion Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. Rev. Paul Aldrich will officiate. Interment will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Blue Earth. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. today, Wednesday, at Bayvi ew/Free born Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the services at the Church. Robert died peacefully Monday, February 28, 2005, at Albert Lea Medical Center.
Robert Frederick Miller was born August 2, 1931, in Redfield, S.D., the son of Walter and Laura (Meyer) Miller. He attended school in Hinckley and graduated from Blue Earth High School in 1949 before attending the University of Minnesota School of Agriculture in St. Paul from 1949 to 1951. Bob entered the United States Army and served in the Korean War from 1951 to 1954.
After his discharge, he returned to Blue Earth where he farmed. Bob was united in marriage to Leah Belle Madsen on September 3, 1955, in Swea City, Iowa. He enjoyed a life long career in agriculture and was a member of NCCA (National Crop Consultant Association) for many years. Bob was a steward of the land and enjoyed gardening, fishing, golfing, dancing and playing cards.
Survivors include his wife, Leah; daughter, Robin and her husband Rolf Johnson;
grandchildren: Emma and Sofie Johnson; sister, Dorothy Ristau; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Lois; brothers-in-law: Arlin Ristau and Al Holland; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Walter and Matilda Madsen.
Bob was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
