Frances Peterson, 80, Las Vegas, Nev.

Frances Delores “Dee” Peterson was born October 8, 1924 to parents Frank and Marie Wiggins who lived on a farm near Walnut Grove, Minn. She was married to Maynard Peterson and they shared their lives together until his passing in February of 1980.

Dee in the many years she lived in Albert Lea, worked for both Naeve Hospital and the County Recorder’s office. She was an active member of the Grace Lutheran Church, as well as the American Legion Leo Carey Unit, where she served one term as auxiliary president.

Dee sold her home in Albert Lea in 2001, and relocated to Las Vegas, Nev., where her sister and family lived. She resided at EI-Jen Assisted Living Facility until February of 2005, where she made many friends and took part in all of the activities.

She entered into rest Feb. 22, 2005, at Surnmerlin Hospital in Las Vegas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, “Pete;” one brother, Glen Wiggins; and sister, Evelyn Kaiser.

She is survived by one sister, Eleanor Boyes and her husband Gerald of Mesquite, Nev.; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held for her at Grace Lutheran Church of Albert Lea, Friday, April 15, at 11 a.m. A burial service will take place the following day at Walnut Grove Cemetery, to commence at 11 a.m.
