Lawmakers to speak at Eggs and Issues event Saturday

The Albert Lea Freeborn County Chamber of Commerce and the Austin Chamber of Commerce will be co-sponsoring Eggs and Issues, a legislative breakfast, at 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 9, at Freeborn-Mower Cooperative Services, 2501 E. Main St., in the community room.
Sen. Dan Sparks, DFL-Austin, Rep. Jeanne Poppe, DFL-Albert Lea, Rep. Dan Dorman, R-Albert Lea, and representatives from Sen. Norm Coleman’s and Rep. Gil Gutknecht’s offices have confirmed their attendance.
The question and answer session will focus on transportation, health-care, water quality, and prevailing wage. Steve Waldhoff, chief administrative officer of the Albert Lea Medical Center, will speak about health-care, Geoff Baker, CEO of McFarland Truck Lines in Austin, will speak about transportation, Don Sorensen, secretary of the Shell Rock River Water Shed Board, will speak about water quality, and Paul Sparks, executive director of the Albert Lea Economic Development Agency, will speak about prevailing wage.
A full breakfast will be available for a fee of $7.
