Lloyd Barber, 77, Dodge Center

Lloyd Vern Barber, 77, died Friday morning, April 8, 2005, at his home in Dodge Center.
Lloyd was born Aug. 26, 1927,
in Gordonsville, and raised in southern Minnesota, the son of Vern and Esther (Booen) Barber.
He was united in marriage to Eldora Schneider on April 12, 1953, at St. Michael’s Lutheran Church in Waltham. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and from 1951-52 he was stationed in Alaska.
He farmed in the Rose Creek, Sargeant, and Austin areas until 1961.
He moved to Dodge Center and owned and operated the DX Gas Station for five years.
He worked for Moorman Feed Manufacturing as a salesman from 1966-1978.
Since then he has enjoyed driving school bus for Triton Schools and did small engine repair at Vern’s Repair.
He enjoyed cooking, gardening, hunting, fishing, music, and his family.
Lloyd is survived by his wife, Eldora Barber, Dodge Center; three daughters, Diane Barber, Rochester, Debra and Craig Bucknell, LeRoy, and Laurie and Randy Rahlf, Byron; three sons, Bradley and Jean Barber, Dodge Center, Brian and (Pamela DuBois) Barber,
Lansing, and Lonnie and Kyla Barber, Lakeville; five sisters, Carol Oakland, Northwood, Iowa, Laura Raymond, Hollandale, Ethel and Leslie Hoffman, Austin, Shirley Giles, Albert Lea, and Esther Mae Schneider, Blooming Prairie; one brother, David and Nyla Barber, Lansing; and 14 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; two brothers; and one grandson, Nathan.
Friends and family may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 11, at the Czaplewski Family Funeral Home in Dodge Center and one hour before the service at the church on Tuesday.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 12, at Faith Lutheran Church in Dodge Center with the Rev. Justin Boeding officiating.
Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery with military honors by the Dodge Center American Legion.
