Ruth Nehring, 82, of Wells

Ruth E. Nehring, age 82, of Wells, died Wednesday, April 13, 2005, at her home in Wells.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. today, April 15, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wells with the Rev. Paul Baker officiating. Visitation was held at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells on Thursday, April 14, from 5 to 7 p.m., and one hour prior to services at church on Friday. Interment will be in Rice Lake Cemetery in rural Wells.

Ruth E. Nehring was born Oct. 29, 1922, in Alden Township, Freeborn County, to Fred and Martha (Buenzow) Tiede. She was baptized and confirmed at Mansfield Lutheran Church and was married there to Roger Nehring on April 16, 1942. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wells and a member of the Hope Circle and served on the funeral committee for many years. She also was a member of the Wells Senior Citizens and served as secretary and on the Board of Directors. She enjoyed visiting her family in Florida, Wisconsin, and the Twin Cities; as well as the family fishing trips to northern Minnesota. She enjoyed playing cards and belonged to many card groups in Wells.

Survivors include one son, Daryl (wife Dianne) Nehring of Mound, Minn.; one daughter, Linda (husband Richard) Falkowski of Pickerel, Wis.; four grandchildren: Terri (husband Ed) Olin, Ginny (husband Randy) Vick, Deanna (husband Charles) Preseler; and Matt Cychosz; seven great-grandchildren: Jessica, Olivia, and Sara Olin; Caitlyn and Cortney Preseler, Mason and Nathan Vick; one step-granddaughter, Laurel (husband Ryan) Christenson; one step-grandson, Daniel Gernes; one step-great-grandson, Aiden; one sister-in-law, Eveleth Tiede of Alden; brother-in-law, Richard and wife Arlene Nehring of Walters; and one aunt, Genevieve Stoltz of Wells.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roger, in 1987; daughter, Jean Cychosz in 1993; three brothers and their wives: Lawrence and Marie Tiede, Harold and Vera Tiede, and Arnold and Ruby Tiede; and two sisters and their husbands: Erma and Walter Seedorf, and Leona and Harlan Buendorf.
